The Lower Oak Lawn section of Dallas and the neighboring Dallas Design District offer an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars, antique stores, showrooms, art galleries and a sprinkling of high-rise apartment complexes. It’s a successful reclamation of a warehouse district that’s an ongoing project of the PegasusAblon real estate development firm.

It is Kendall Shiffler’s job to market Lower Oak Lawn to the rest of the city and the world. Instead of billboards and traditional media, she’s using social media marketing and blogs to make that happen.

Shiffler, marketing communications director for PegasusAblon, talks to SplashCast host Renay San Miguel about how her blog has helped tell the Lower Oak Lawn story, and how she convinced business owners who were initially skeptical, but are now enthusiastic about reaching out to customers via social media.

    Julie

I haven’t been down to the design district in YEARS (think, early 2000s?) so I’m very intrigued to go check it out now. A blog is a great way to do my research on where I want to go before I make the trek down there!
