David Horton
Director of Engineering
David Horton is a prime example of why Splash Media loves to brag about its video production team; he has more than 15 years of experience in television engineering and production, and he got his real start in that field working on one of the highest-profile sporting events of 1996 – the Summer Olympics Games in Atlanta. Those in the know are aware of the special challenges involved in shooting and producing live sports events, and David proved to be up to that challenge working in venues featuring the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Desperadoes and Dallas Mavericks, as well as events at the Cotton Bowl. After joining PRIMEDIA Productions in Dallas, he worked his way up to assistant chief engineer. Yet David isn’t content to just sit behind a director’s board in a studio, pushing buttons and running robotic cameras; he’s also designed and built several small and large production facilities around Dallas/Fort Worth. He is an expert in the field of video format conversion, making sure that customers get top video quality playback in limited bandwidth applications and players.

Prior to joining Splash Media, Steve was a producer/director of digital media services at Primedia Workplace Learning, managing broadcast TV projects for the Oxygen Network, PBS and SpeedChannel and setting up digital media projects such as live webcasts.
Steven T. Miller
Writer/Director/Editor
You don’t get much more accomplished in the field of visual arts than Steven T. Miller, and you won’t find more auspicious beginnings for a career behind the camera and in an editing bay. In 1984, Miller and R. Brad Murano (now Splash’s chief creative officer) met at a master film workshop and were soon taken under the wing of Oscar-winning filmmaker Robert Wise (“The Sound of Music,” “West Side Story.”) The two used that tutelage to write and edit a trailer and screenplay that won an award at the Houston International Film Festival. Talk about confident; the two aspiring artists apparently used Jedi mind tricks to convince officials at George Lucas’ Skywalker Sound to let them cut the final sound mix for their trailer at that Marin County facility.
All that served as a launch pad for Miller’s ascent in the music video industry, working with Murano to write, direct and edit more than 100 videos for everyone from Pat Benatar to Take 6 to Alison Krause. Miller has also served as a governor of the Texas board of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and was asked to oversee final completion and installation of film exhibits at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Miller’s award-winning ways continued when he entered the corporate video world, winning an Emmy as recently as 2008 for Splash Media’s production of “Dr. Brown’s Photoshop Laboratory” for client Adobe. Other top-name clients on the receiving end of Miller’s considerable talents: Nokia, Ford, GM, Hasbro, Reliant Health Care, Mary Kay and Pennzoil.
